Staying in the City and taking the train to Belmont Park was a great experience. I met a lot of very nice people and had great food. My favorites were Maggie’s on 47th, the best fried blue point oysters I have ever eaten (I was there everyday) and Amarone (the black linguine with seafood kept calling to me - I dined there twice). Both places had great service as well as great food always a plus.
I enjoyed walking the city; the architecture is incredible, Time Square and experience, and the energy of the City invigorating. I did visit the 911 Memorial but did not have time to tour the new One World Trade Center – maybe next trip- I will get tickets in advance.
